A big thanks!

Last nights performance went off!!
A big thanks to the many people/fans that came along to our show and as well for Raising Rain for their Incredile performance.
Overall it was a great night and it couldn't of happened it wasn't for our major sponsor Suncoast Christian College for letting us use there venue and equiptment.
Last but certainly not least our manager, Ken Bowden. He has been with us since the very start and everything Crossroad is today wouldn't be possible if it wasn't for his kind hearted spirit and just being a classic legend.

More about Sam

Samuel is of the tender age of 18, he is the guitar player for the band Crossroad and has been playing guitar for the last 4 years. Thereis no surprise why Samuel is said to be a great musician by many of his peers, after always being musically influenced at such a young age by his Pop who would inspire him to learn and appreciate music for what it truly is. Samuel has been widely involved in many music projects such as playing guitar in his local church team, youth team, playing at such events such as Easterfest and Youth Alive. Samuel loves playing music and couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

Patience is Key-Article By Samuel Mc

Patience Is Key

If there is one thing I have learnt while being in a band for the last few months it is that, patience is key. Though being in a band and playing music sounds fun to most people and a lot of the time it is but being in a band takes a lot more than 4 individuals to pile in a small room and expecting something to flow out of someones mind each and every practice and unfortunately for my band the journey has not been that easy.

As a group we have a lot of similarities, the big one being that we are all laid back and like to go with the flow. This however has been our biggest downfall as we would be constantly limiting our musical capacity and overall skill because of the way we are. Though my perception of my band has sounded a bit doom and gloomy because of one negative, though I can’t be forgetting all the achievements that we have completed and accomplished as a team/band. We have all learnt about each members strengths and weaknesses over the past for months and we have used this to our advantage to specifically for many reasons such as to choose songs to fit our band members voices, structuring and sculpturing each song so it can accommodate to all of our musical abilities and so that so we can not only do a cover of it but to make it our own bandstyle.

More about Kiana

Kiana grew up in a fairly musical family, always surrounded by music and siblings mastering their own instruments. From a young age she took piano lessons, but soon found herself swept up in the world of sporting, and trying to balance music and sport became a struggle. In her early middle school years at age 13 she discovered a local band 52 Flicks and attended their gigs, which is where her love for bands began (and thereʼs definitely no turning back). Since then, Kianaʼs love and passion for music has grown, as well as her own instrumental skills. Since joining Crossroads, Kiana has gained more confidence and experience in the music industry along her journey and looks forward to what has to come for her and Crossroads.

Don't Panic: It's Longer Now!

My All Time Best Album?

All Time Low are arguably one of the most talented and incredible bands i’ve had the pleasure of discovering over the past few years, and my love has since grown immensely for these small town boys living out their dreams. My discovery of them began during their release of “Dirty Work” in 2011 which I instantly fell in love with and ever since have been supporting them in their rise to fame.

With their fan base rapidly growing, All Time Low have grown strength-to-strength and yet again released another 2 albums, “Don’t Panic” and “Don’t Panic! It’s Longer Now”. More recent of the two, “Don’t Panic! It’s Longer Now” was more highly anticipated, featuring all the previous songs from “Don’t Panic”, a few additional songs as well as acoustic versions of some of my favourites of Backseat Serenade & Somewhere In Neverland

There was also the highly anticipated (for me, at least) addition of my personal favourite song A Love Like War featuring Vic Fuentes of Pierce the Veil, which was a single released from All Time Low early September of 2013, sending the fan base into an absolute frenzy, including myself. With summer well on the way for us, All Time Low have so effortlessly captured the youthful and carefree feelings that come along with it, but this 20 track epic should see you through till winter. Pop-punk definitely isn’t dead, with All Time Low shining in the spot light of this genre, i’m looking forward to more incredible work from these guys.

Crash tackling nerves

Getting nerves before a performance is a common thing, everybody get them weather you are Michael Jackson or just any joe off the street playing in a pub. So don’t think you are alone it is how you let those butterflies affect you is the important thing. Their are some reasons you get nervous which you can eliminate. Such as those nerves and bad thoughts that you get when you know you haven't practiced much, thats easy practice more so you can flick those nagging thoughts away. Also when you practice just focus on what you are doing and don't let your mind stray to other things, if you do that then you will probably let your mind stray in the performance and things can go wrong. If you get deathly nervous in front of huge crowds then start small and work you way up cause no one wants to go watch a shaking leave on stage. Another thing to remember is that just when you are about to perform your nerves increase so by deeply and slowly breathing you can control your heart and minimize the worst bit of nerves. Thats how I got over some of my nerves, I do still get a little nervous before a performance and thats good it pushes me to be better. I was also once told while waiting in a line for the tower of terror (a roller coaster) and hearing the loud screams to push against a wall like your trying to push it over, it gives you a break from the nerves for about a minute until they come back. Remember having no nerves is just as bad as having heaps of nerves. I hope this helps you... Rachel
